The Lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing either by lure or fly rod and there are some large fish to be caught and cooked. A number of boats are available for use and, for the hardy, a swim before dinner will set you up for fine evening meal. The ranch is located within the White River National Forest which is another reason that makes this ranch so different - it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is isolated from the rush of everyday life. They are surrounded by the 2.3 million acre National Forest. Because of their location they operate off the utility grid using solar and hydro power to supplement their propane generator for all electricity. Cell phones do not work at the ranch so the ranch phone is the only means of getting in contact

Their winter programme is truly unique. Because they are in the National Forest, the road to the ranch is closed once the snow comes, usually in December. After this point guests must come the last two miles on snowmobiles. Their staff provides this pick up and drop off service. Once at the ranch, guests use their snowmobiles or rent to take advantage of the 30+ miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Veteran snowmobilers as well as first timers can enjoy these trails. The ranch also grooms trails for cross country skiing. Other activities enjoyed at this time of year are snow shoeing, sledding, skating, and just relaxing around the fire. The ranch is also within one to two hours of several downhill ski resorts as well. The winter season typically runs from December - April.
