The Ranch at Rock Creek

The Granite Lodge sits on a small ridge just west of Rock Creek and serves as the primary home base during a visit to a luxury guest ranch. The Great Room and the Dining Room are located here, as well as the Silver Dollar Saloon. Also located by the Lodge is the outdoor pool with its patio and Jacuzzi, the Spa and the Mercantile.

There are nine rooms in The Granite Lodge, each finding design inspiration in iconic Western themes, such as the great old railroad hotels during the turn of the century and the classic guns that helped win the West. The Lodge weaves luxury, style and authenticity together in a manner unique among guest ranches in Montana.

The ranch offer private cabins & log homes to provide guests with additional privacy on their ranch vacations, while easy access to the Granite Lodge remains. The ranch have a wide variety of homes that are ideal for families and friends to spend time together.

For some, the definitive experience at the luxury guest ranch is to stay in one of the signature Canvas Cabins—the true ‘Glamping’ experience. Yards from Rock Creek, these ‘tents,’ as they are casually called, offer the best way to feel a part of nature.

They are individually furnished in a rustic camp style, featuring private baths, comfortable beds with luxurious bedding and the murmur of the creek running by just outside your front door.

All canvas cabins have a gas fireplace, screened-in porch and a deck facing Rock Creek. There is a private bathroom attached to each cabin in addition to a personal bathroom in a bathhouse, which can be accessed via a short, lighted walkway.

The coffee & tea bar is available throughout the day, as well as regularly provided snacks. Cocktail hour is hosted daily in the Great Room featuring amuse bouche prior to dinner. The ranch also offer a kids’ menu.

There are various special dining events at The Ranch on a weekly basis. These include:
- The Dutch oven dinner on the Granite Lodge’s flagstone
- Rodeo bison burger BBQ at the Blue Canteen
- Chefs’ grill on the Granite Lodge’s flagstone
- Chef ’s tasting menu in the Dining Room of the Granite Lodge

In addition to the array of dining options, they offer a myriad of entertainment in the Silver Dollar Saloon. Whether you prefer to sit down to an after dinner drink at the bar or the ball rolling in the four-lane bowling alley, the Saloon offers a variety of games that everyone will enjoy.

You are offered a genuine Western equine programme with a variety of disciplines available to satisfy every guest. From year-round trail rides through the sprawling ranchland to authentic cowboy rodeos in the summer, the programme suits riders of every ability level and accommodates all interests.

Trail Rides: The well-trained horses are the ideal way to enjoy a scenic stroll through majestic mountain meadows in the summer or alongside sparkling snowy streams in the wintertime. Trail rides are daily and last from one to two hours in length. Advanced riders are welcome to reserve trotting and loping rides as available. Private rides with a personal wrangler are also available.

Riding Lessons: Whether it’s your first time on a horse or you’re looking to learn more advanced techniques, the wranglers will give you a personal lesson in the arena suited to meet your needs. Learn to walk, trot and canter or work on getting comfortable in the saddle - it’s up to you!

Arena Games: Try your hand at learning a traditional Western rodeo skill from roping and pole bending to barrel racing and team penning.

Roping - Learn how to rope calves like a cowboy.

Pole bending - Timed racing around poles in an extended figure of 8 pattern.

Barrel racing - Horse and rider race around barrels in a clover leaf pattern.

Team penning - Timed riders separate identified cattle into different pens.

Cowboy boots and riding helmets are available for guest use in varying sizes at the Rod & Gun. Jeans and cowboy boots are appropriate riding attire.

There are four miles of private access and pristine river frontage on acclaimed blue ribbon trout stream Rock Creek. The experienced guides will share their secrets of the stream to ensure each day of fishing is exceptional. Fly fishing on Rock Creek is an activity not to miss.

Rock Creek is a mountain stream that is naturally fed from snow melt and spring runoff. It is home to six different species of trout, including cutthroat, cut-bow, rainbow, brown, brook, and bull as well as the mountain whitefish, and boasts one of the highest fish populations in the state.

With four separate shooting ranges available year-round, the ranch can accommodate some of the most popular shooting disciplines, utilizing the most current and recognized equipment available to challenge avid shooters and train amateurs alike. Both skeet and sporting clays are two of the most popular options offered.

The extensive road and trail system on The Ranch at Rock Creek provides excellent mountain biking opportunities for all levels of riders. Options range from an easy pedal along the creek on Rock Creek Road to challenging single-track trails.

State-of-the-art front suspension mountain bikes are available from the Rod & Gun Club and will be personally fitted to you. Staff guides are available for instruction and to accompany you on your adventures.

The price includes full board with breakfast, lunch & dinner in either the Granite Lodge or the Blue Canteen. Also included are all premium wines and drinks from the wine list during meals or in the Silver Dollar Saloon. Reserve wines are an additional cost. All ranch activities such as riding, fly-fishing, skeet shooting, hiking and mountain biking are also included.
