In Westwater Canyon the Colorado River is funnelled into a narrow corridor of large black polished rocks overlain with red sandstone cliffs. Not only is the canyon spectacular, but the rapids are a blast. Funnel Falls, Skull, Sock It To Me and several more rapids come one after the other in an intense and rollicking expedition that brings out the bronco rider in all of us.
Above and below Westwater the river meanders serenely through red rocks and you're invited to join them for a two or three day trip. Eagles sail over canyon walls and the thickets along the stream banks are as beautiful and relaxing as the rapids are exciting. Overnights are on the river bank.
